Poke is an AI assistant you text. cutGPT is a free AI chat app that pays eligible users a cut. Poke handles reminders and inbox chores from your messages; cutGPT is where you go for longer thinking and writing.
What Poke does
Poke launched publicly in March 2026 from The Interaction Company, which joined Cognition in July. You sign up at poke.com with your phone number and text it on iMessage, SMS, or Telegram, with limited WhatsApp support.
Connect Gmail or Outlook, your calendar, Notion, GitHub, Oura, and more, and Poke can plan your day, manage events, triage email, set reminders, and run background automations. Shareable “recipes” add new skills, Poke can build simple websites, and on the top plan Poke Human sends a real person to handle things like reservations and phone calls.
What cutGPT does
cutGPT is a chat assistant on the web, iPhone, and Android. It answers questions, drafts and edits writing, explains photos and documents, and searches the live web with sources. It doesn’t watch your inbox or run automations.
What you get instead:
- A full chat app. Long answers, tables, charts, file attachments, and history synced across devices.
- Free to chat. Ads pay for the models.
- A cut for eligible users. Discretionary promotional rewards, cashed out to PayPal past the minimum (terms apply; not wages or guaranteed income).
- Memory import. Bring context over from ChatGPT or Claude.
Pricing
Poke is free to start. Pro is $19/month for frontier models and background automations. Ultra is $199/month with the highest limits, pay-as-you-go usage, and Poke Human. Real-world costs that a Poke Human pays for you are billed at cost.
cutGPT is free to chat, with no paid plan.
Privacy
Poke works best when you connect your email and calendar, and you choose which integrations to turn on. cutGPT doesn’t ask for account access. See the privacy policy.
Which should you pick?
Pick Poke if you want reminders, inbox help, and automations running from your text messages.
Pick cutGPT if you want a full, free AI app for writing, studying, and research, with a cut on top.
Use both if Poke handles the small stuff in your texts and you open cutGPT when you need to dig in.
