Instinct is the AI assistant you text. cutGPT is a free AI chat app that pays eligible users a cut. One runs errands; the other helps you think, write, and learn.
What Instinct does
Instinct launched in August 2026 as an invite-only service with almost no marketing. There’s no phone app. You text it over iMessage, WhatsApp, or email, or call it, and it gets on with the job using a computer and phone the way a person would.
Reviewers have had it book cabins and dinner reservations, order groceries, check whether a dentist is in-network and make the appointment, deal with insurance customer service, cancel forgotten subscriptions, and reply to email. It connects to Google Workspace, Slack, and Notion, and asks you to enter website logins through a secure vault. In October it added group chats, so it can help plan trips or dinners with friends, even ones who haven’t signed up.
What cutGPT does
cutGPT is a chat assistant on the web, iPhone, and Android. It answers questions, drafts and edits writing, explains photos and documents, and searches the live web with sources. It won’t log into your accounts or place orders.
What you get instead:
- Open to everyone. No invite, no waitlist, no US phone number required.
- Free to chat. Ads pay for the models.
- A cut for eligible users. Discretionary promotional rewards, cashed out to PayPal past the minimum (terms apply; not wages or guaranteed income).
- A full app for longer work. Tables, formatted answers, file attachments, and memory import from ChatGPT or Claude.
Pricing and access
Instinct has no subscription fee for now. The company hasn’t said what it will charge later. Getting in takes an invite from a current user or waitlist approval, plus a US phone number. A Mac app is available once you’re in.
cutGPT is free and open to sign-up with Apple or Google.
Privacy
Instinct asks before it acts, keeps logins in a vault, and keeps group-chat agents separate from your personal account. It still works best with access to your email, calendar, and accounts.
cutGPT doesn’t need any of that. See the privacy policy for details.
Which should you pick?
Pick Instinct if you have an invite and want life admin handled over text.
Pick cutGPT if you want a capable AI right now, on any device, for free, with a cut on top.
Use both if Instinct handles your errands and you still want a free assistant for writing, studying, and research.
